Facebook’s Google photo transfer tool is now open to all

When Facebook first announced the launch of Google Photo Transfer Tool in April, it was limited to only the United States and Canada. Now, Facebook announced on Thursday that it is available for everyone including countries in Asia Pacific, Africa, and Latin America. It is not limited to these regions, soon it will expand to other countries as well.

Are you wondering, how to make use of the new tool?

The Google Photo Transfer is an amazing tool developed by Facebook that allows users to transfer photographs and data on the linked Gmail account. The process of doing so is simple and straightforward:

1. Login to your Facebook account and go to Settings on the upper right menu

2. Select the tab, “Your Facebook Information”

3. Click “Transfer a copy of your photos or videos”

The Data Transfer Project was released in 2018 to make data transfer between the platforms easy and simple. Now all your memories are saved and can be easily accessed on Google.

Facebook shared an update, “At Facebook, we believe that if you share data with one service, you should be able to move it to another. That’s the principle of data portability, which gives people control and choice while also encouraging innovation. Today, we’re releasing a tool that will enable Facebook users to transfer their Facebook photos and videos directly to other services, starting with Google Photos."

The platform also shared that they will soon be adding many more services and Google Photo Transfer Tool is just the tip of the iceberg. Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and Twitter joined the project in 2018 and Apple joined the prestigious project in 2019.
