TikTok Ban demand becomes Twitter trend in India due to Acid Attack Video

Acid attack is the most heinous crime and worst form of violence that can be inflicted on any human. Making videos and glorifying such a mortifying crime is an act of encouragement and the person doing it should be severely punished.

The above-mentioned paragraph is the synopsis of most of the Tweets that are criticizing the TikToK user Faizal Siddiqui. He recently uploaded a video where he throws a transparent liquid on a woman who betrayed her. On throwing the liquid, the woman’s face is represented as full of injuries due to acid attack.

Soon the video got viral and amassed hateful responses. The acid attack survivor, Lakshmi, on whose life Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak was made also raised her voice. She clearly stated how painful the incident was and if Faizal has guts then he should try throwing a drop of acid on his hand to feel what an acid victim feels. She even stated that in the current times where the world is battling viruses and struggling to find the cure, people should not spread such videos and malign the environment.

Acid Attack survivor Lakshmi criticizes TikTok user Faizal Sadiqui

A trend started on Twitter, #BanTokTok and people started to criticize Faizal and the App. Even BJP leader Tejinder Singh Bagga criticized the video and asked National Commission for Women chief Rekha Sharma to look into the matter and take action against Faizal Saddiqui.

Many other celebrities and Twitter users stood up against the video and asked for severe action. Let’s hope an appropriate action is taken against Faizal and TikTok restricts the publishing of such harmful videos.
