Why Twitter does not has an “edit” button explains Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter

Tweet, retweet, troll, etc. is the twitter terminology that came into existence when the social media portal gave the users the freedom of speech and opinion. Twitter is a social media handle where you can express your opinions via tweets, follow the prominent and relevant people in the world and retweet their tweets.

It is also a platform that gave birth to trolling. Troll is a way of mocking the people in the virtual world for their opinions, expressions, or basically anything, but all in good humour. Recently, CEO of Twitter, Mr. Jack Dorsey, answered a few questions and the prominent question was, “Why is there no edit option on the tweet?”

Many users asked the same question and the possibility of an Edit button in the future. Dorsey simply replied, “No,” and explained he has a reason for not adding the edit button on the tweet till now.

He explained that "You might send a tweet and then someone might retweet that and an hour later you completely change the content of that tweet and that person that retweeted the original tweet is now retweeting and rebroadcasting something completely different."

It is understandable as most of the eminent personalities are on twitter and have a strong follower base. Editing options can give them an option to edit an old tweet which might be an important announcement or update. It could lead to problems in the long-run.

However, Dorsey said that” We've considered a 1-minute window or a 30-second window to correct something," he says, "but that also means that we have to delay sending that tweet out because once it's out, people see it. So these are all the considerations. It's just work but we'll probably never do it."

So, the only thing all the Twitter users should do while tweeting is to think before tweeting and avoid typos.  The only thing Twitter users can cling on to "probably" as that was the most given reply by the CEO Jack Dorsey.
