China has not stopped its game yet and here is another one, nearby 40,000 attempts made by them to hack many sectors. These attacks have been made in the last 5 days in the IT and banking sectors.
The gush of online cyber-attacks was noticed after the tensions rose in the two countries in Eastern Ladakh stated Yashasvi Yadav, Special Inspector General of police of Maharashtra’s Police Cyber Wing.
Maharashtra’s state police Cyber wing also said that these attempts of cyber hacking were mostly made from the Chengdu area in China. Yadav also said that the attacks were aimed at causing issues like the hijacking of internet protocol and many more. He added by saying that at least 40,300 cyber-attacks were made in the last 4-5 days.
Yadav also has warned the Indian internet users to beware of such attacks and should keep concerned about cybersecurity.
The sectors that were targeted were information, infrastructure, and banking. One of the cyber intelligence firms also assured that China hackers are targeting government agencies and businesses in India. There has been a list which is out on Chinese hacker forums which include some companies, banks as well as media houses like BSNL, Airtel, Hindustan Times, Times of India and more.
The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team has warned that very destructive and fraudulent was planned by the hackers against the Indian Companies. And further also revealed that the cyber attackers were going to send out emails distributing government funds for COVID-19. The attackers were planning a big thing.
