Cyber Attack led by Russian Hacker stopped in Ohio on the voting day

The election-related cyber-attack stopped by Ohio. Officials of State Elections detected a cyber-attack on 5th November and stopped it before it could pose any threat.


The attack was detected in Panama and officials though that it has originated from Panama, after probing further, its roots were traced back to a Russian owned firm. The Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose condemned the attack as unsophisticated and said to Columbus Dispatch that “They are poking around for soft spots,”


La Rose further assured that the electoral votes were not compromised in spite of the attack. He confirmed that the ballot counters and election machines were not connected via the internet; therefore, there is no scope of compromise.


Lastly, he ended the statement with a remark, “The good guys won that day, and the bad guys lost.”
